What is acne?

This oil in the hair follicle combines with the dead skin cells and the bacteria forming a plug in the pores which eventually causes inflammation. The deeper inflammation on the skin surface results in papule (pimple), further deeper inflammation causes cyst.

Acne is therefore caused to a person who has an oily skin type. It can also cause other skin related problems such as dark spots, acne scars, whiteheads and blackheads.

We have already understood that what are causes of acne that is the hormones oil produced from sebaceous glands, the dead skin cells and the bacteria on our skin surface but let me make you aware of the fact that these are not the only factors.

Hereditary 

In many of the cases the problem of acne and pimple is hereditary where the person whose parents having a severe acne issue is more likely to face the problem of acne and pimple.

Cosmetics

There are many such skin care products which clogs the pore of your skin causing acne or pimple. one should always see the list of ingredients listed at the product and should make sure that it is a water based product if you deal with an oily skin.

Foods that causes acne

If you are a fried food lover than sorry to say that it is one of the most common causes of acne. As the oily fried food or saturated fats accelerates the sebaceous gland to produce more sebum thus causing acne. Even avoid eating sugar based food which also contributes in the causing of pimple.

Stress factor

stress is a cause that has no contribution in causing acne directly but is indirectly a causes of acne. Due to stress our body  produces an hormone called Cortisol which eventually becomes a causes of acne.

Improper medication

Some medication includes Androgen and Lithium which contributes as a cause of acne in our skin.

Menstruation

In women acne can also be caused due to the hormonal changes in their body at the time of menstruation.

Symptoms

After knowing the causes of acne it becomes important to have a look over the symptoms of the acne.  Acne signs and symptoms are different depending upon the seriousness of the acne. It may include :
  • Redness 
  • Swelling
  • Small red tender bumps
  • pimples filled with pus at tip

  • Wash your face twice daily with a good face wash containing about 2% of salicylic acid.
  • Avoid rubbing your face with towel rather always dap to dry your skin.
  • Moisturize your skin with an oil free moisturizer.
  • Avoid eating too much junk food, shift to a healthier and proper diet.
  •  Exfoliate twice a week.
  • Use face home-made face masks to reduce oil from your skin.
